  • Mr. Manoj Kumar  Mukherjee - 92 Years

    Manoj Kumar Mukherjee passed on Makar Sankranti Jan 14, 2025 in Kolkata. With the consent of his family, his corneas and whole body was donated with the coordination of MOHAN Foundation and Gonadarpan, Kolkata.

    The donor's grandaughter, Sulagna Kar shared some details about her beloved grandfather with MOHAN Foundation. She said, My beloved grandfather lived an extraordinary 96 years, marked by resilience, hard work, and quiet strength. Born in Bangladesh, he witnessed the pains and upheaval of the India-Bangladesh partition, ultimately finding his new home in Kolkata. There, he contributed to the city's growth, working closely on road traffic signalling under British guidance”an early testament to his skill and determination.

    His journey took him further to Durgapur, where he became an integral part of Durgapur Projects Limited (DPL), contributing to the development of thermal power projects. Trained by German and English engineers, he dedicated himself to this field with unwavering commitment, shaping not just the infrastructure but the lives of those around him. His life was a testament to being self-made, starting from humble beginnings to becoming a man whose expertise and hard work were respected by all.

    A proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he witnessed the milestones of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, offering wisdom and love with every step. Though he lived simply, his life was rich with values of integrity, perseverance, and love”values he passed on to everyone who knew him. As we say goodbye to our cherished grandfather, we take comfort in the legacy of his strength, kindness, and work ethic, which will forever live on in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear grandfather. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will remain with us always, guiding and inspiring us¯.
