  • Mr. Udhayakumar   - 90 Years

    Mr Udhayakumar (90), a successful retired businessman from Coimbatore was a loving father and a generous grandfather. His legacy was of serving others and his noble acts gained a lot of positive reputation in his community. He wisely quoted, A person should always have a neutral mindset towards others and whenever possible feed food to the people or animals who are in hunger, if you can't do it in large numbers just feed the one who you could see the hunger in eyes¯, A giver will never be a loser .

    On November 06, 2024, Mr Udhayakumar passed on due to cardiac arrest. In his diary, he has mentioned his last wish, to donate organs after death, and mentioned a phone number to call under this circumstance. To honour his wish his family members came forward to donate his corneas. His granddaughter Ms Aswini Viswanathan, rang up Mr Ganesh C, MOHAN Foundation with the contact details from the diary. Mr. Ganesh appreciated the family's decision and supported the details of the nearby eye banks.

    Cornea retrieval was done successfully by Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore.
