Sensitization Programme on Organ Donation Conducted at T Ward of Apollo Hospital, Belapur, Navi Mumbai

  • On August 5, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session on organ donation at T Ward of Apollo Hospital, Belapur. Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi led the session as the key resource person.

    Ms. Prarthana began by introducing the MOHAN Foundation and outlining its objectives. She engaged the audience with a presentation and interactive discussion, highlighting the need and importance of organ donation in India.

    The following topics were covered in detail:

    • The concept of organ donation and transplantation
    • Types of death, including cardiac death and brain death
    • The process of deceased organ donation and live organ donation
    • Procedures for skin and bone donation
    • Common myths and facts about organ donation and their impact
    • The role of the MOHAN Foundation in promoting organ donation

    The session was attended by nursing staff and faculty from the institution. The participants were highly motivated by the presentation and extended their support by pledging their organs. A total of 12 individuals pledged to become organ donors and received their donor cards. Approximately 16 people attended the session.
