Sensitization Programme on Organ Donation Conducted at Government ITI Belapur, Navi Mumbai

    On June 14, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an enlightening session on Organ Donation for students at Government ITI Belapur, with Mr. S J Patil, Principal of the college, playing a pivotal role in organizing the event. Ms. Prarthana served as the key resource, initiating the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation and outlining its activities. The discussion covered essential topics including the definition of organ and tissue donation, the various types of donations, and specifics about which organs and tissues can be donated after brain death and circulatory death. Ms. Prarthana also clarified the distinctions between brain death, circulatory death, and brain stem death.

    The importance of the donor card was emphasized, along with the display of MOHAN Foundation's helpline number for further inquiries. Ms. Prarthana encouraged active involvement and urged attendees to become advocates for organ donation within their communities. The interactive session included questions from participants, such as inquiries about the THOA Act, the process of skin donation, and the eligibility of individuals with asthma to donate organs.

    The session concluded on an inspiring note, with 42 participants pledging their organs and 76 individuals actively engaging in the discussion. MOHAN Foundation extends gratitude to Mr. S J Patil for his invitation and unwavering support in advancing the cause of Organ Donation among the students of Government ITI Belapur.
