In collaboration with Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College (IGGMC), MOHAN Foundation orchestrated a 5 KM marathon named "SANKALP" to bolster awareness for organ donation. This initiative was aligned with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare's "Angdan Jagurkta Abhiyan," a nationwide campaign aimed at advocating for organ donation across India.
On July 14, 2024, the event was ceremoniously flagged off by Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari, the Honorable Commissioner of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, with Dr. Ravi Chauhan, Dean of IGGMC, serving as the Guest of Honour. The marathon saw enthusiastic participation from Maharashtra's medical community, including post-graduate and undergraduate students alongside senior doctors. Approximately 200 students actively engaged in the marathon, displaying commendable support for the cause.
MOHAN Foundation played a pivotal role by providing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials to participants and prominently showcasing banners and placards with messages promoting organ donation throughout the event. This collaborative effort not only encouraged physical activity but also raised crucial awareness about the significance of organ donation, underscoring its life-saving potential.
Through initiatives like "SANKALP," MOHAN Foundation continues to lead impactful campaigns that inspire communities to pledge for organ donation, thereby potentially transforming and saving countless lives across the region.
