On June 18, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an impactful awareness program on organ donation for batch 3 students of Government ITI Belapur. The session was graciously hosted by Mr. S J Patil, the Principal of the college, who played a pivotal role in organizing this event.
Ms. Prarthana engaged the participants by introducing MOHAN Foundation and its dedicated efforts in promoting organ donation. She initiated the session by encouraging the students to share their personal thoughts and feelings about organ donation, fostering an open and interactive atmosphere.
Throughout her presentation, Ms. Prarthana covered essential topics related to organ donation, starting with the concept and procedures involved in body donation. She explained the differences between brain death and cardiac death, emphasizing the significance of each in the context of organ donation. Ms. Prarthana also discussed the various types of donors and elaborated on the procedures for eye and skin donation. She concluded by guiding the students on how to pledge their organs, empowering them to make informed decisions.
The session sparked lively discussions among the participants, who actively expressed their views and posed insightful questions. Queries included inquiries about the timeline for whole-body donation and the process of hand donation, reflecting a deep engagement with the topic.
