Organ Donation Awareness Talk Conducted at Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai

  • On January 21, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness program on organ donation at the auditorium of Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai. The session was arranged and organized by Anuja Sister, the in-charge of the Nursing Department, and was attended by the nursing staff of the hospital.

    Approximately 116 participants attended the session, with Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi serving as the key speaker. She discussed the effective use of the organ donation helpline, 1800 103 7100, and explained various aspects of organ donation, including the types of donations, how to register as an organ donor, and the concepts of brain death and circulatory death.

    Ms. Prarthana emphasized the importance of carrying a donor card and encouraged everyone to pledge their organs. The session was interactive and engaging, with participants asking numerous questions. Some questions were aksed during the sessions are

    • What are the concerns about body disfigurement after organ donation?
    • How can one register for tissue donation?
    • How does the helpline work for online donor pledge registration?

    The session concluded with Ms. Prarthana expressing her gratitude to Apollo Hospital for organizing the event and supporting the important cause of organ donation.
