Ambassador overcomes CKD to run marathon in Bengaluru

  • Organ Donation Ambassador Mr. Mr Anant Acharya ran the 2024 Tata Marathon in Bengaluru in March 2024. After his marathon he shared his journey of resilience, gratitude, and a desire to contribute. Mr. Anant spoke about his big disaster experience of being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD) at 35 and how his wife's decision to donate her kidney gave him a renewed sense of purpose. He embraced running as a fitness goal and a way to raise awareness about organ donation, participating in the National Transplant Games and the SAP Run. Running has taught him perseverance and focus, qualities that are important in the world of technology.

     

    He was also happy to share that he is also an organ donation ambassador, connecting with individuals and families considering organ donation and partnering with NGOs like the MOHAN Foundation and the Kidney Warriors Foundation. He has reached a large number of people through his marathon and shares the thought to donate organs.

     

    His workplace, SAP Labs India has been instrumental in supporting their professional growth and personal goals, providing flexible work arrangements, a supportive team, and health insurance. He also requested the tech community to embrace a healthy lifestyle and to create awareness on organ donation.
