  • On June 8, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted an informative session on Organ Donation for senior citizens at Aashray Elders Paradise, an old age home in Belapur. This event was organized by Chandravati Rao and Mrs. Babita to coincide with the 14th Foundation Day celebrations at the old age home. Ms. Prarthana began her presentation by introducing herself and providing an overview of the MOHAN Foundation. She proceeded to cover essential topics related to organ donation, including defining organ and tissue donation, eligibility criteria for donors, different types of donors, types of death affecting donation eligibility, dispelling myths about organ donation, emphasizing the significance of the donor card, and discussing body donation.

During the interactive session, the audience raised several pertinent questions, such as how the helpline number operates for skin donation, the process of registering for eye donation, the difference between body donation and organ donation, and whether elderly individuals can donate their bodies and the procedures involved. Ms. Prarthana addressed each query promptly and comprehensively, ensuring clarity for all attendees. The session received a positive response, with close to 32 members pledging to donate their organs. A total of 24 participants attended the event, contributing to a meaningful discussion on the importance of organ donation and its impact on society. Special thanks were extended to Mrs. Chandravati Rao for her invitation and dedicated support in promoting the cause of Organ Donation among senior citizens at Aashray Elders Paradise.
