MOHAN Foundation Raises Organ Donation Awareness Stall at CBD Belapur Railway Station, Navi Mumbai

  • On Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, MOHAN Foundation Mumbai organized an impactful Organ Donation Awareness stall at CBD-Belapur Railway Station. The initiative, spearheaded by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, Public Education Counsellor at MOHAN Foundation, aimed to enlighten and inspire members of society, students, and the general public about the significance of organ and tissue donation.

     

    During the event, Ms. Prarthana delivered an insightful talk on various aspects of organ donation, addressing common queries from attendees. Her presentation covered:

    1. What is Tissue Donation?: Explaining the significance of donating tissues such as corneas and skin.

    2.  How Deceased Organ Donation Can Save Multiple Lives?: Highlighting how a single deceased donor can save multiple lives through organ donation.

    3.  What is Cadaver Organ Donation?: Clarifying the process and impact of organ donation after death.

    4. Body Donation: Discussing the noble act of donating one's body for medical education and research purposes.

     

    Attendees were encouraged to participate by filling out pledge forms, which were easily accessible via a displayed QR code on a banner. In total, 46 individuals visited the stall, and MOHAN Foundation flyers were distributed to 36 interested individuals. Ms. Prarthana also exchanged contact details with several enthusiastic participants who expressed interest in organizing awareness camps in their workplaces or communities.

     

    The event concluded with a hopeful outlook towards a future where greater awareness and participation in organ donation will lead to saving more lives and fostering a culture of giving in society.
