  • On March 22, 2025, MOHAN Foundation participated in the Kidney Joy Ride to commemorate World Kidney Day. The event was hosted by Manipal Hospital Goa in association with IMA Goa and MOHAN Foundation, running from 7 AM to 10 AM.

The program began with a talk on kidney health by Dr. Amol Mahaldar, Organ Donation Coordinator, IMA State Goa and Nephrologist at Manipal Hospital Goa. Dr. Amol engaged the attendees with questions about kidney health and well-being. Mr. Gabriel Pereira, an Organ Donation Ambassador from the MOHAN Foundation, discussed the work the foundation does in Goa and across the country.

The event included a ferry boat ride for kidney patients, accompanied by their family members and dialysis staff. The ride was flagged off by Dr. Shekhar Salkar, an oncologist at Manipal Hospital, departing from Panaji Jetty at 7 AM. It headed to the Old Goa ferry point and concluded with a traditional Goan breakfast at the Pastoral Institute, St. Pius X Garden in Old Goa, at 9 AM.

Cyclists from both the Panjim and Vasco cycling clubs took part in the event. The Panjim Cycling Club cycled a 20 km round trip from the Panaji ferry terminal to the Old Goa ferry terminal, while the Vasco Club completed a 50 km round trip starting from CROMA Dabolim to the Old Goa ferry terminal.

Everyone gathered at the Old Goa ferry terminal and participated in a walkathon from there to the Pastoral Institute, passing under the Viceroy Arch.

Approximately 100 people participated in the event.
