Students of Modern Academy School Learn about Organ Donation

  • On 15th April 2019, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the students of Modern Academy School in East Imphal. Around 47 students from IX and X grades along with the school Principal were present at the session which lasted for more than one hour.

     

    Ms. Roma Devi, Transplant Co-ordinator from MOHAN Foundation delivered the talk. The following topics were discussed during the session:

     

    • The necessity and importance of organ donation
    • Types of donors
    • The difference between brain death and cardiac or circulatory death
    • Tissues and organs that could be donated in case of brain death and cardiac death
    • The importance of carrying donor cards

     

    The programme ended with a Q&A session with participants asking a few questions about organ donation. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Modern Academy School for the opportunity.
