Session on ‘Current Status of Organ Donation in India’ by Dr. Vaishali Shelgaonkar

  • On August 2, 2024, during a prize distribution ceremony, Dr. Vaishali Shelgaonkar delivered an insightful session on the "Current Status of Organ Donation in India." The session was organized by MOHAN Foundation in collaboration with the Department of Anaesthesiology and Critical Care at IGGMCH, following the guidelines issued by the Honorable Commissioner of Medical Education.

    Dr. Shelgaonkar began with introductory remarks on the subject, providing an overview of the current organ donation landscape in India. The awareness campaign aimed to educate attendees about the challenges and progress in organ donation, as well as to promote greater understanding and support for the cause.

    The event was attended by nearly 200 individuals, including faculty members, prize winners, and medical students, all of whom gained valuable insights into the importance of organ donation and the ongoing efforts to improve the system. The successful execution of the campaign underscored MOHAN Foundation's commitment to raising awareness and fostering dialogue on this critical issue.
