Sensitization Program on Organ Donation and Transplantation at Apollo Hospital, Belapur, Navi Mumbai

  • On October 8, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation conducted a sensitization program on organ donation and transplantation for nursing officers at Apollo Hospital, Belapur, Navi Mumbai. The program, organized by Ms. Prarthana Dwivedi, Public Education Counsellor at the MOHAN Foundation, was specifically designed for the nursing staff of the hospital.

    The session targeted nursing officers from the K and J wards, with the goal of enhancing their understanding of the importance and processes of organ donation. It also emphasized the critical role that nurses play in this life-saving procedure. The program aimed to improve the nurses' skills in identifying potential organ donors and creating a supportive environment for organ donation and transplantation within the healthcare setting. Additionally, it covered the ethical and legal aspects related to organ donation.

    The program was highly successful in achieving its objectives. Participants gained valuable insights into the significance and processes of organ donation and transplantation, as well as the ethical considerations involved. The interactive sessions effectively enhanced the practical skills and knowledge of the 19 nursing officers who attended and pledged their support, further empowering them to contribute to organ donation efforts in their professional roles.
