On the occasion of Rani Avantibai Lodhi Jayanti, MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur was invited by Mr. Rahul Nagpure of Ekat Mata Nagar in Jaitala, Nagpur, to set up a stall to create awareness about organ donation and transplantation on 16th March 2021.
A stall was put in an open ground with banners, brochures, pledge forms and donor cards and managed by Mr. Bulu Behera, Transplant Coordinator. A presentation was used to explain the concepts of organ donation and transplantation.
Information related to cardiac death, brain death, coma and the roles of various central and state bodies that regulate organ donation was given. The visitors were asked to download the organ donation app on their mobile phones which gives all necessary information regarding organ donation and transplantation.
Around110 people visited the stall; 20 to 30 people collected pledge forms and 12 people signed up as organ donors.
