On March 5, 2025, the Lions Club Devbhoomi Rishikesh invited MOHAN Foundation to set up an information desk on organ donation at a blood donation camp held at the dispensary of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, Ministry of Railways, Rishikesh. The invitation was extended by Mr. Gopal Narang, Charter President of the Lions Club Devbhoomi Rishikesh.
The event combined a voluntary blood donation drive with an awareness campaign on organ donation.
Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader at MOHAN Foundation stationed at AIIMS Rishikesh, managed the information desk, attracting interest from dispensary staff, railway personnel, blood camp volunteers, and donors.
Participants raised several questions, including:
• Do families of organ donors receive any benefits?
• What is the time frame for making a skin donation after death?
• What distinguishes organ donation from whole-body donation?
• What is the process for whole-body donation?
All queries were addressed, and informational materials, including Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation, were distributed to visitors.
Approximately 25 individuals visited the desk, with many expressing their willingness to pledge for organ donation.
This initiative effectively combined the spirit of giving through blood donation with organ donation awareness, inspiring action among attendees.
