On 23rd October 2011, Nethrodaya, a self-help institution for the differently abled (Visually & physically challenged) invited MOHAN Foundation for their 9th Anniversary celebration. On this event of the 9th anniversary, as a family, Nethrodaya, wished to make a statement to the rest of the world that the visionless can now proudly be at the giving end rather than being at the receiving. The members of Nethrodaya pledged for organ donation, serving as role models to be emulated by every normal person. By this act of donating, the visually challenged community proved that it is not sympathy, but an acceptance and equal footing that is required from every individual.
The event was presided over by esteemed chief guest Mr. K. Ramanujam, IPS, Director General of Police, Inspector General S.P. Sharma PTM TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (East), Mr. Dhanavel, IAS, Member Secretary-State Planning Commission- Govt of Tamilnadu, Mr. Audiseshiah, IAS (Retd), and Principal Secretary-Govt of Tamilnadu.
