
On 30th July, 2024 MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness program for the parents of students of Anjugam Primary School, Chennai. The program was an initiative of the school principal Mrs. Marthal Sessili. The program was organized after school hours in 2 batches. Around 45 parents attended the talks conducted by Ms. Arshiya Fathima of MOHAN Foundation.
She interacted with the parents to gauge their level of understanding about organ donation. Then she started her talk on the Concepts of Organ Donation. She explained the work of MOHAN Foundation. She spoke of the need for organs, what and when donation can happen. She explained brain death and the difference between brain death and coma. She spoke of tissue and voluntary body donation and also clarified the myths & scams on organ donation. She also gave information on the free service of Organ Donation Helpline 1800 103 7100.
7 parents expressed their willingness to register as organ donors and picked donor cards. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to principal Mrs. Marthal Sessili for this opportunity.
