Organ donation awareness at an NGO workshop

  • On March 25, 2025, NGO ARUWYE organized a psycho-social integration workshop titled “Break, Breath and Bloom”. This workshop aimed to relax the social workers working in the different NGOs, and to help them cope with stress.

    The event was organized at the training hall of ARUWYE, Kodambakkam, and over 32 members from 9 different NGOs participated. The session began with a welcome address from Ms. Jenifer Diana, Youth Coordinator, ARUWYE and followed by an interactive session conducted by the students of Psychology Department, Loyola College who are interning at ARUWYE.

    Ms Kamala, Childrens’ Coordinator, ARUWYE introduced, Mr. Ganesh C, MOHAN Foundation to the audience and created a space to create awareness on organ donation and transplantation. Mr. Ganesh, briefly spoke about MOHAN Foundation, organ donation, shortage of organs and how awareness sessions can create an impact in increasing the rate of organ donation. He then spoke about types of donations, brain death and gender inequality in the field of living donation. He then spoke about government schemes and concluded by requesting other NGO join hands in saving lives.  

    The session concluded with vote of thanks by Sr Mary Josephine Isabella, Director, ARUWYE. MOHAN Foundation thanks ARUYWE for the wonderful opportunity.
