  • On July 5, 2024, MOHAN Foundation organized an information desk on organ donation at Ambattur Bus Terminus, Chennai. The primary objective was to educate the public about the importance of organ donation and to encourage them to become donors.

Ms. Arshiya (Helpline counsellor), Ms. Maheswari and Swethapriya (Interns) set up an information desk and distributed brochures, green ribbons to the people at the bus terminus and nearby shops. A organ donation poster was stuck on the wall of the police assistance booth at Ambattur. Many individuals started reading the brochures immediately, showing genuine interest in the information provided. This initial engagement was a positive sign, indicating that the public was open to learning more about organ donation.

MTC Bus inspector pinned a green ribbon and showed his positively towards organ donation and he announced over the public address system that today the travellers can check out information about organ donation.  The desk was active for 4 hours.

    Queries asked were:

    1.      How to sign for organ donation

    2.      Does hospital work on organ donation

    3.    Under what condition is organ donation possible

Around 250 brochures were distributed and more than 15 came to the information desk to clarify doubts. 4 people pledged and picked a donor card.

MOHAN Foundation thanks the Metropolitan Transport Corporation and Ambattur bus terminus officials for their support to set up the information desk.
