Organ Donation Talk at Dayanand Ariya Kanya Mahavidlaya, Jaripathka, Nagpur

  • On February 27, 2025, Mr. Bulu J. Behera, Transplant Coordinator from the MOHAN Foundation, conducted an insightful organ donation awareness talk at Dayanand Ariya Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Jaripatkha, Nagpur, at the invitation of Dr. Babita Thool, the NSS Officer of the college. The session, attended by 39 students, aimed to educate the young audience about the significance of organ donation and the processes involved.

    Mr. Behera discussed a range of critical topics, including the legal and ethical processes of organ donation, the differences between brain death and natural death, and the types of organs that can be donated. He also highlighted the importance of the Organ Transplant Act, the potential for hand transplants, and the roles of organizations like NOTTO, ROTTO, and SOTTO in promoting organ donation and transplantation across the country. The session fostered thoughtful engagement, with students actively participating and asking insightful questions. As a result of the talk, 5 participants signed the pledge to donate their organs.

    The MOHAN Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Babita Thool for organizing the session and her efforts in raising awareness about the life-saving cause of organ donation. This session was a valuable step in spreading awareness among the students and encouraging them to take an active role in promoting organ donation.
