  • On February 27, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation conducted a sensitization session on organ donation at the Nagpur Diocesan Council Church of North India, held at the National Council of Churches campus in Civil Lines, Nagpur. The session, attended by 25 pastors from various churches across the Vidarbha region, aimed to prepare for the upcoming Lent period and explore the possibility of initiating an organ donation pledge drive during this time of reflection and self-denial.

The session was led by Veena Wathore, Project Manager at the MOHAN Foundation, who presented a comprehensive overview of the current status of organ donation in India. Her presentation highlighted the need for increased awareness and participation in organ donation. Khushi Nandavanshi, a living liver donor, also shared her inspiring personal story, recounting her experience of donating a part of her liver to save a life. Her story served as a powerful reminder of the life-saving potential of organ donation.

The session concluded with a plan to launch an organ donation pledge drive, encouraging individuals to commit to organ donation. Participants were provided with pamphlets and information about online registration to make the process as accessible as possible. The event emphasized the importance of community involvement in raising awareness and supporting organ donation, especially during the Lent season, which is a time of self-reflection and giving.
