On September 28, 2024, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Rotary Club Rishikesh Divas to set up an information desk to promote organ donation at a blood donation camp held at Adarsh Inter College. The invitation was extended by Ms. Tanu Jain, President of the Rotary Club Rishikesh Divas.
The program included a voluntary blood donation drive along with efforts to raise awareness about organ donation.
Mr. Sanchit Arora, Project Leader at MOHAN Foundation stationed at AIIMS Rishikesh, set up the information desk. NCC cadets, school students, blood camp volunteers, and blood donors visited the desk, asking several questions, including:
• Who can be an organ donor?
• What is brain death?
• What are corneas?
• Is there a facility for liver or kidney transplantation in Rishikesh?
• How can one contact the hospital team if someone passes away at home?
• How can I pledge for organ donation?
• Is it possible to complete the form online, and what are the steps?
• Is there a MOHAN Foundation office in Uttarakhand? Do you also provide organs?
All queries were addressed at the desk, and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on organ donation were distributed. The organizing committee also set up a pledge registration desk, allowing visitors to pledge for organ donation on the spot.
Approximately 15 participants visited the information desk during the event.
