MOHAN Foundation was invited by Dr. D. T. Powar, Regional Transport Officer, Geripeth, Nagpur to conduct an awareness session on organ donation for drivers who apply for vehicles registration and driving license. The awareness talk was held on 19th July 2016 in the waiting hall of the RTO.
Mr. Bulu Behera delivered a talk on Organ donation. In his talk he explained the wahat, when, why and how of organ donation. He also spoke of the patients who need organs and hospital that do transplants and a few stories of the donors of Nagpur. He told the audience activities of MOHAN Foundation and about the helpline service and the website for information.
It was a very interactive session. Approximately 45 drivers were presented during the talk. 2 drivers took the donor card.
The Drivers asked the following questions:-
1) How much time is taken for Eye donation?
2) Whom to contact for Body donation?
3) In Nagpur which hospitals are doing kidney?
