Mrs. Ranjini Shankar received a call from an RSS member Mr. Sandeep Shetty to conduct an awareness session in the Dollars Colony locality, addressing RSS team volunteers and public during the Ganesha Festival celebrations. He had earlier attended an awareness session organized by MOHAN Foundation and decided that he would organise one for him team as well, along with a blood donation camp.
At his request Mrs. Ranjini, Project Manager of MOHAN Foundation conducted an interactive session and set up an all-day help desk on 10th September 2021 at Dollars Colony. Around 350 members attended the session and even more participating in the celebrations visited the help desk. Kabbadi players of the locality also attended the event

Shri. DV Sadananda Gowda inaugurated the event and spoke a few words appreciating the work of MOHAN Foundation.
Mrs. Ranjini began the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision; the concept of organ and tissue donation; types of death - cardiac death and brain death; brain death declaration; and procedure of deceased and living organ donation. Mrs. Ranjini then elaborated on the procedure of eye, skin, and bone donation; briefly explained the role of Jeevasarthakathe; touched upon the transplant law and the importance of a donor card. Myths and facts, and barriers to organ donation were highlighted as well.
Shri. M Narayan Prasad, who was impressed by the work of MOHAN Foundation, expressed his wish to conduct more events in with collaboration with the Foundation.
Around 220 people signed up as organ donors during the event. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Mr. Shetty for the opportunity.
