Organ Donation Awareness at Meitei Mayek High School

  • On 22nd April 2019, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness session for the students of Meitei Mayek High School Imphal. Around 40 students were present at the session which lasted for around 45 minutes.

     

    Ms. Roma Devi, Transplant Co-ordinator from MOHAN Foundation delivered the talk. The following topics were discussed during the session:

     

    • The necessity and importance of organ donation
    • Types of donors
    • The difference between brain death and cardiac or circulatory death
    • Tissues and organs that could be donated in case of brain death and cardiac death
    • The importance of carrying donor cards

     

    The programme ended with a Q&A session with participants asking a few questions about the process of organ donation in hospitals. MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Meitei Mayek High School for the opportunity.
