On July 30, 2024, an awareness on Organ Donation was organized for the students of Ambari College of Arts and Science for Women. The awareness was done in two sessions, Session 1: 2nd year students and Session 2: 1st year students. Totally 163 students participated in the awareness program. Mr Ganesh C of MOHAN Foundation was the resource person.

The session began with a welcome note from Ms. Kalaivani, Staff, who greeted the students and introduced the speaker, Mr Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator, MOHAN Foundation to the audience. Mr Ganesh commenced the session by asking the opinion of the students. He introduced the Concepts of organ donation, brain death, time factor, how to get a transplant, government schemes, whole body donation, hand transplantation, myths and scam. The session was interactive and the students participated actively.

The college Secretary Mr Senthil Kumar, attended the session and motivated the students to extend their support to organ donation, and insisted to take this information to the community. He mentioned that “instead of letting our body rot or burn into ashes we can at least donate eyes to give vision to someone”. 17 students picked up donor cards and others extended their support and informed them that they would pledge once they turn 18.

MOHAN Foundation extends its warm gratitude to Mr Senthil Kumar for organizing the event and for the support.
