On June 19, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an important awareness talk about organ donation at the monthly staff meeting of Niramay Bahu-Uddeshiya Seva Sanstha in Nagpur. Dr. Shirsagar, the Sanstha's Secretary, invited Mr. Bulu Behera to educate the staff on this crucial topic.

The session aimed to inform and inspire. It started by emphasizing why organ donation matters in society, how it saves lives, and improves quality of life. Mr. Behera explained clearly how organ donation works, both when donors are alive and after they pass away. This helped clear up misunderstandings and encouraged informed decisions among the attendees.

A major focus was on which organs can be donated and their impact on recipients waiting for transplants. The talk also highlighted the urgent need for more donors in India, given the long waitlists. MOHAN Foundation's role in organizing donations and raising awareness was also explained passionately.

Eye donation was highlighted as a way to give the gift of sight, and the less-known options of donating one's body and hands for medical research were also discussed, showing how these contributions benefit others.

The session deeply resonated with the 19 staff members present, who actively participated and asked questions to better understand organ donation. Three members even pledged to donate their organs, showing their commitment to helping others in need.

MOHAN Foundation sincerely thanks Dr. Shirsagar and the entire team at Niramay Bahu-Uddeshiya Seva Sanstha for their enthusiastic support. Their initiative in hosting this awareness session reflects their dedication to promoting compassion and generosity within their organization and community.

Together, through ongoing education and active participation, we can create a future where organ donation is seen as a powerful way to give hope and transform lives.
