  • On 5th July 2016, Superspeciality Hospital, Nagpur, invited MOHAN Foundation to speak about organ donation to the outpatients. Dr. A. Dani arranged the stall where MOHAN Foundation displayed information brochures, donor cards, standees and a banner.   Mr. Bulu Behera & Ms. Kanchan Shewde Transplant Coordinators managed the stall.

Information given to outpatients was about the following:

    Types of deaths

Who can donate organs and value of donor card?

In case of Brain Death which organs and tissues can be donated?

In case of Natural Death which tissues can be donated?

Tissue and organ donation by living person.

What is priority list of organ recipient?

What is the difference between coma and brain death?

MOHAN Foundation activities and information sources like the helpline number.

24 patients visited the stall. After understanding about organ donation, 2 people signed the pledge form. Most of them wanted to discuss with their family, so they did not pick a donor card.

Transplant coordinator also requested them to visit MOHAN Foundation website and use the helpline number to clarify their doubts.
