On August 13, 2022, MOHAN Foundation set up awareness stall to commemorate Organ Donation Day, 2022 at Tribal Research Institute Auditorium, Chingmeirong, Imphal in association with the members of Book Club Imphal on the launch event of 3rd volume of the magazine called “Heeden Da Chumthang”.
Book Club Imphal is an interactive platform which is founded by Ms. Pooja Elangbam, Sub- Divisional Officer, Porompat, Imphal. The club is a small endeavour to introduce young people to art, literature, beauty, collaboration, interaction etc. It is also a safe space for people to discuss and come up with new ideas and activities for engagement of the youth.
The event was inaugurated by Ms. Pooja and Mr. Chaoba Thiyam, the main artist of the music band called “The Siyom”. Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer, MOHAN Foundation was invited to deliver a talk on organ donation. She kickstarted the talk by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its objectives and visions. She shared details of organ donation scenario in India & in North-eastern region. She also urged the young generation to learn about it and encouraged them to stop by the stall for more detailed information.
MF team distributed FAQ’s on organ donation to different stalls & participants in the event. Many visitors like young professionals working in different fields & students visited the stall. They showed keen interest to discuss the cause with their families and friends. The club members also extended their support for organizing & participating in such activities in the future.
Close to 200 participants attended the event.
