On November 24, 2024, the MOHAN Foundation, led by Prarthana Dwivedi, organized an informative and engaging awareness session on Organ Donation. The camp was held with a Health Check-up Camp of Apollo Hospital was successfully conducted in Shree Ayyappa Swamy Seva Samiti in Airoli, Navi Mumbai.
The event aimed to educate the public about the significance of organ donation while promoting preventive healthcare. Program organized by Mr. Shetty, President of Shree Ayyappa Swamy Seva Samiti. The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from locals of all age groups.
The awareness session featured expert speakers, including doctors and social workers, who highlighted the life-saving impact of organ donation and dispelled common myths. Real-life stories of organ recipients added a powerful touch, inspiring many to pledge their organs.
Simultaneously, a free health check-up camp offered consultations, blood pressure monitoring, diabetes screening, and other diagnostic services. The initiative emphasized the importance of regular health assessments in preventing chronic illnesses.
The session was interactive, and participants actively engaged in a Q&A segment, where they asked important questions such as:
How is skin harvested for donation?
What is the process for consenting to body donation?
Participants expressed gratitude for the dual opportunity to gain valuable health insights and contribute to a noble cause. The session was attended by 58 members of the Shree Ayyappa Swamy Seva Samiti, who showed genuine interest in learning about organ donation and its life-saving potential. At the end of the session, 12 members pledged to donate their organs, a powerful demonstration of their commitment to this cause.
