On December 24, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted a comprehensive organ donation awareness program for the ICU Nursing Department of Shri Satya Sai Sanjivani Centre for Child Heart care Hospital. Ms. Vruchika in charge of the ICU Department, organized the session, which was attended by approximately 86 nursing staff and doctors of hospital.
Ms. Prarthana was the featured speaker for the day. The session commenced with a motivational video followed by an enlightening discussion on the Concepts of Organ Donation. Ms. Prarthana emphasized the pivotal role of MOHAN Foundation in promoting organ donation and explained the critical need for organs, detailing the circumstances under which donation can occur. She provided clarity on brain death and elucidated the distinction between brain death and coma. The session also covered aspects of tissue and voluntary body donation while addressing common myths and scams related to organ donation. Ms. Prarthana further informed the attendees about the free services available through the Organ Donation Helpline at 1800 103 7100.
Towards the conclusion of her presentation, Ms. Prarthana showcased an educational video on brain death. She also highlighted the Transplant Coordinator courses offered by MOHAN Foundation, discussing their structure, value, and fee details. Additionally, She introduced the "Angels of Change" training, a short-duration program, and the film Aye Zindagi, based on a true story, aimed at enhancing awareness and skills related to organ donation.
