NOTTO Chintan Shivir on ''One Nation, One Policy'' for Organ transplantation in India

  • MOHAN Foundation's representatives were invited to participate and contribute to NOTTOs Chintan Shivir on "One Nation, One Policy" for Organ transplantation in India from 30th August to 31st August 2024. The theme of the meeting was to discuss reforms required for augmentation of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in terms of Technology, Processes and Legislative Reforms in India. 

    The 2 day conference was inaugurated by Mr L S Changsan, Addl Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, GoI, Prof. (Dr.) Atul Goesl, DGHS, GoI, Shri Apurva Chandra, Secretary (MoH&FW), GoI.

    Dr Sunil Shroff, Trustee and Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Director MOHAN Foundation were invited. Intense discussions on following sessions were  held

    Ms Jaya Jairam was invited as one of the panelists in Session 8 involving discussions around lack of health insurance for Organ donors and recipients, which could act as a big hindrance to the organ donation programme on the whole. The other panelists included Mr Ramana Rao from  IRDAI, Ms. Sunayana Singh from ORGAN India.
