On December 28, 2024, Ms. Lalitha Raghuram, Country Head of MOHAN Foundation, was invited as the Chief Guest at the inauguration of Jaslok Hospital Mumbai's CRITICON 2024, organized by their ICU team. The event took place at The Rooftop, Trident, Nariman Point.
Dr. Sanjay Nagral, a distinguished gastrointestinal and liver transplant expert, introduced Ms. Raghuram to an audience comprising around 75 members of Jaslok's ICU team, intensivists, and students. Ms. Jaya Jairam, Project Director of MOHAN Foundation, also attended the event.
In her powerful and moving address, Ms. Raghuram shared her inspiring journey, starting with her career in eye care and her significant contributions to the organ donation movement. She recounted the heart-wrenching story of donating the organs of her 19-year-old son after a tragic accident, underscoring the importance of giving the 'Gift of Life.' She also highlighted the transformative work of MOHAN Foundation and its far-reaching impact.
The event included a poignant felicitation of ten donor families, featuring a deeply touching story from the daughter of a Spanish woman who donated her organs while visiting India.
The evening concluded with a banquet dinner, leaving the audience inspired and united in their commitment to organ donation.
