Mr. Kamal Shah invited Mr. Anant Anekar, a kidney donor who had donated his kidney to his 6 year old son. Anant shared his thoughts on what he went through, the doubts and challenges that he faced, and he gave confidence to the audience by sharing how he is leading an absolutely normal life in all aspects, while feeling extremely satisfied to watch his son grow and realise his dreams.

A few questions asked by the audience were as follows -

    1. After the surgery, the patient is supposed to be kept in a private room. Can family members enter that room?
    2. How long there is an isolation after transplant?
    3. How long do we need to take immunosuppressive medication after a transplant?
    4. Is there any maintenance required for a pool after transplantation, and how should one approach swimming?

MOHAN Foundation is thankful to Nephroplus for collaborating for such a meaningful event that not just educates the dialysis patients but also gives them hope and confidence towards leading better lives.
