On June 22, 2024, MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness webinar on organ donation for the staff members of Kotak Bank, Malad Branch. Mr. Pawan from Kotak Bank arranged the webinar via Zoom.
Ms. Prarthana introduced MOHAN Foundation, outlining its mission, vision, and objectives. She sensitized the participants about eye donation, explaining its purpose, beneficiaries, and suitable conditions for donation. Ms. Prarthana differentiated between cardiac and brain death, elaborating on the organs and tissues viable for donation in each scenario. Notably, she highlighted the possibility of tissue donation (such as skin and eyes) occurring even at home, capturing the attendees' interest. Further, Ms. Prarthana discussed organ donation opportunities arising from brain death, underscoring the potential to save multiple lives through successful transplant stories.
Addressing prevalent myths surrounding organ donation, Ms. Prarthana clarified misconceptions by presenting factual insights. She actively engaged with participants, addressing their queries on organ allocation transparency and the availability of transplant services in government hospitals, among other topics. Ms. Prarthana adeptly resolved all questions raised during the session.
The webinar attracted 39 participants, with 10 individuals pledging online to support the cause of organ donation. MOHAN Foundation extends gratitude to Mr. Pawan for his invitation and commitment to promoting organ donation awareness within Kotak Bank, Malad Branch. Ms. Prarthana’s webinar not only provided valuable knowledge but also fostered a sense of community and responsibility among the participants. By encouraging active engagement and addressing concerns directly, she instilled confidence in the attendees about the transparency and efficacy of organ donation processes. The session served not only to educate but also to inspire individuals to consider their role in contributing to the noble cause of saving lives through organ donation.
