On 12 June 2023, the MOHAN Foundation (MF) was invited to conduct an awareness session for the Karma Lakelands, Gurugram, personnel. Ms. Diki Bhutia, Director of Karma Lakelands, Gurugram, contacted Ms. Pallavi Kumar, Executive Director of MF, NCR, to educate their employees about organ donation. They would also like to place posters and displays with organ donation promotional messages on their property. Ms. Simran coordinated with Mr. Sandeep Trehan, Chief Operations Officer for the session.
Karma Lakelands is golf resort & residents; owned by Mr. Ashwini Khurana, the President of Karma Lakelands, and renowned environmentalist who acquired the first piece of land in 1989 with the sole purpose of planting trees, which today has evolved into a one-of-its-kind eco-responsible golf resort with luxury residences in Gurugram.
Ms. Pallavi was the resource person, and she was accompanied by Ms. Simran. The session was attended by Mr. Ashwini, Ms. Diki, management staff, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff, security, technicians and gardeners.
Ms. Pallavi began the session by introducing MF to the audience. She then asked the participants about their understanding of the subject of organ donation. Many of them shared their experiences regarding the same. Two short movies were shown to the participants. One was of a heart recipient, and the other was of a donor family. She then explained the concept of organ donation. The term "brain death" was explained with the help of a short informative film. She also shed light on "consent" related to organ donation, legal death, and the various steps involved in a brain death declaration.

Mr. Ashwini shared his family’s experience about donating the organs of his 20-year-old daughter, who tragically met with an accident a few years ago. At the end of the session, Mr. Ashwini, and Ms. Diki shared words of thanks to Ms. Pallavi for taking the time to conduct such an informative session. They both pledged to donate organs and motivated their staff to do the same.
Close to 280 participants attended the talk, and 40 of them took the donor card to pledge.
