On March 25, 2025 NCC Army wing of Anna University, organized a blood donation and organ donation camp titled “Udhra & Angdaan”. This was done in collaboration with Adyar Cancer Institute and MOHAN Foundation at the Vivekananda Stadium, Anna University Campus.
The event started with Mr Ezhil Arasan, Assistant Professor and NCC Staff welcoming the resource persons and sharing his idea and experience in brief on blood and organ donation.
Mr. Ganesh C, Marketing Coordinator MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to address the students. With the help of a presentation, he explained the concept of organ donation, brain death, time factor, green corridor. He also explained how to register as organ recipient, safeguarding from scams and effective usage of organ donation helpline number 1800 103 7100.
Ms Anood Jafar, Intern at MOHAN Foundation, organized an information desk with green ribbons, information brochures, standee etcs. She supported the organ donor registration process. 246 NCC cadets and students attended the session and 176 pledged as donors and picked up donor cards.
The session concluded with Professor Padmanathan, NCC In-charge thanking MOHAN Foundation and Adyar Cancer Institute for their support in making the event a success.
