MOHAN Foundation invited to conduct an awareness talk on organ donation at TVS Showroom, Akashvani Chowk, Nagpur

  • On 20th June 2023, Mr. Bulu Behera transplant coordinator of MOHAN Foundation, Nagpur was invited by Mr. Suraj Warghane TVS showroom manager. Mr. Bulu Behera gave information about organ donation, in his talk, he gave information which is given below.

    Mr. Bulu gave the following information to the participants:

    1. What is organ donation? Who can donate an organ?
    2. What is brain death and natural death?
    3. After brain death, which organs and tissues can be donated?
    4. After natural death, which tissues can be donated, and what are the time factors?
    5. What is the difference between coma and brain death?
    6. Is organ donation possible if the patient is in a coma?
    7. Live person, which organs can be donated, and what are the criteria for live donation?
    8. Information regarding body donation and eye donation
    9. What are the legal and ethical implications of organ donation?
    10. What does the Transplantation of Human Organs Act of 1994 say about organ donation?
    11. What is the role of NOTTO, ROTO, SOTTO, ZTCC, and the MOHAN Foundation in organ donation?
    12. Historical aspect of organ donation.
    13. What are the time factors for organ donation?

    It was an interactive session and the participants asked the following questions:

    • If I sign pledge form for organ donation any financial support by Government?
    • Whom to contact for organ donation?
    • Who is head of the MOHAN Foundation?

     

    In the end, Bulu Behera requested all the participants to use the Foundation's website and helpline number for any information on organ donation or for online pledging of organs. About 15 showroom staff presented & 4 signed up for organ donation. MOHAN Foundation thanks to Mr.Suraj Warghane for supporting the noble cause of organ donation.
