On 15th June, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Trustees of the Parijnan Chaya Senior citizens home, Lonavala, to conduct an awareness seminar on organ donation.
The session began with a warm welcome by the In-charge of the senior citizen’s home, Ms. Arati Gupta who introduced MOHAN Foundation & its team members, Ms. Jaya Jairam & Ms. Jyoti Shetty. Ms. Jaya gave a detailed presentation explaining about Organ donation, its legal aspects, its importance, its impact on saving lives, common misconceptions & concerns related to it.
Inspirational testimonials & success stories of organ recipients & their transformed lives were shared highlighting the positive impact of organ donation. A dedicated question & answer session was held to address the queries, concerns & misconceptions of the attendees.
The participants raised a few queries such as:
Ms. Jaya provided accurate & precise information’s to all queries & clarified all doubts related to organ donation too. There were engaging & interactive activities, such as group discussions and 2 skits with the theme of organ donation that was presented by 39 students of the ITM Institute, Panvel. The attendees actively participated in the discussions, shared personal experiences and expressed their willingness to support the cause of organ donation. Several attendees requested further information on the registration process too. The seminar received an overwhelmingly positive response from the senior citizens. Attendees received informational materials related to organ donation that they can further distribute among their communities. The session concluded with a powerful call to action, encouraging the senior citizens to consider registering as organ donors and spreading awareness among their family and friends. 90 participants were present.
