On March 13,2025, the World Kidney Day, the YUVA Club of Ethiraj College for Women, and the students of B. Com organized an awareness seminar on Organ Donation. Around 210 students were present. The event featured a talk by Dr. Sunil Shroff, the Founder and Managing Trustee of the MOHAN Foundation. The event was aimed at educating students about the importance of organ donation. The team from the MOHAN Foundation, included Dr. Sunil Shroff, Mr. Ganesh (Marketing Coordinator), and Ms. Anood Jafar (Intern from PSPH, Manipal University).

Dr. Shroff then took the stage and provided valuable insights into the topic of organ donation, highlighting its significance and the alarming statistics on organ failure in India. He shared a poignant example from 2004, when many lives were lost due to Tsunami, and emphasized that every year, four times more people die due to organ failure, underscoring the urgent need for organ donation.
Dr. Shroff also explained brain death, the donation time frame, and the importance of the green corridor in facilitating organ donations. He encouraged students to become ambassadors for organ donation through the MOHAN Foundation’s "Gift of Life" course, stressing that YUVA could serve as a vital platform for creating awareness among young people.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks and Mrs. Anupama the Nodal Officer presented a memento to Dr. Shroff as a token of appreciation.
This seminar served as a powerful reminder of the importance of organ donation and the role of awareness in saving lives. MOHAN foundation is grateful to Ethiraj College for Women for arranging such an event in this special day.
