  • On March 11, 2025, the MOHAN Foundation organized an awareness session at the RTO office in Wadala for people taking the online driving license exam. This session was led by Ms. Sakshi. She began the session by engaging the audience with a thought-provoking question: "How many of you are familiar with the term 'organ donation'?" She emphasized the importance of raising awareness, pointing out that many people are still unaware of this life-saving concept. Ms. Sakshi introduced the MOHAN Foundation, which stands for the Multi-Organ Harvesting Aid Network, and explained its role in promoting organ donation. She further discussed the two main categories of donors: living donors and deceased donors, later she explained on the types of death—cardiac and brain death.

Ms. Sakshi explained in detail how one person can save up to 9 lives and enhance the lives of 50 others through organ donation. She concluded the session by addressing common myths and misconceptions surrounding the topic, helping to clarify any doubts the participants had.

The session concluded with a Q&A, where participants raised important questions about organ donation, such as

    1. Which organs and tissues can be donated if the patient dies of natural causes?

    2. What can be donated if the person has a severe disease, and the time limits for heart and liver transplantation?

Ms. Sakshi highlighted a significant initiative: the inclusion of a question about organ donation in the online driving license exam. She informed the attendees that when they take the online test for their driver's license, they are now asked whether they would like to pledge their organs.Total 30 people attended the session. The session was a step forward in fostering a compassionate and informed community willing to make a difference through organ donation.
