On March 1, 2025, MOHAN Foundation was invited to participate in the observance of World Kidney Day 2025, organized by the Department of Nephrology, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal. Ms. Laishram Monica Devi, Programme Officer, MOHAN Foundation, attended the event.
The function was graced by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, as the Chief Guest; Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS, Imphal, as the President; and Prof. Th. Meera Devi, Dean (Academic), RIMS, Imphal, as the Guest of Honour. The event was attended by doctors, nurses, paramedics, students, and patient relatives from various departments of RIMS.
Following the felicitation of dignitaries, Prof. L.K. Sharatchandra Singh, Head of the Department of Nephrology, RIMS, delivered the welcome address. The keynote address was presented by Prof. N. Sharatkumar Singh from the Department of Nephrology, RIMS.
As part of the program, the first two transplant recipients were felicitated, along with patients undergoing long-term Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD). The testimonies shared by the recipients were heartfelt and inspiring.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma commended the stakeholders for the milestones achieved in renal transplantation. He emphasized the need for early detection of kidney diseases among the public.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Associate Prof. T. Brojen Singh, Department of Nephrology, RIMS, who acknowledged the support of RIMS administrators in advancing various departments.
Approximately 130 participants attended the program.
