Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Porompat, Imphal, Observes World Kidney Day 2025

  • On March 13, 2025, the Renal Transplant Programme at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Porompat, Imphal, observed World Kidney Day 2025 at the MS Office under the theme “Are Your Kidneys OK? Detect Early, Protect Kidney Health.”

     

    Prof. Kh. Lokeshwar Singh, Medical Superintendent, JNIMS, and Nodal Officer for Organ Donation and Transplantation, distributed World Kidney Day 2025 bookmarks to doctors, nursing staff, and other JNIMS personnel. Through this initiative, he encouraged them to monitor their kidney health and also motivated them to consider organ donation and pledge as donors.

     

    A poster campaign was conducted in the OPD and Nephrology OPD areas to raise awareness among patients.

     

    To mark the observance, a WhatsApp message was sent to the families of a deceased organ donor and a transplant recipient, acknowledging the noble act of organ donation.

     

    Approximately 50 participants gained valuable insights into kidney health and organ donation through the event.
