MOHAN Foundation participated in Ramnagara Marathon organized at Yellow & Red Foundation on February 01, 2015. The Ramnagara Marathon is one of the largest annual sporting events in Ramnagara (near Bangalore) held every year. The event is organized by the Yellow & Red Foundation in partnership with MOHAN Foundation.
The Ramnagara Marathon 2015 had-more than 1000 runners participating in 7k, 11K, and 21K Run consisting of corporate employees, school children, celebrities, senior citizens and general public. This event is conducted every year since 2013 to promote health and fitness among the people and also bringing people together to promote organ donation.
We have distributed 500 donor cards, information brochures and family donor cards to the interested participants at the marathon and sensitized the participants on the importance of deceased organ benefits of transplantation and myths surrounding organ donation. We thank all the participants that have approached us for information and for their interest towards organ donation.
We thank the brand ambassador Sri. Dhananjaya (Kannada Movie Star) for pledging to donate organs and taking our donor card and also accepting to be our brand ambassador to promote organ donation in Karnataka.
We also express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Mr. Prakash Gupta (runner & participant in the marathon) for their loss and wish that god provides all the strength that his family needs to withstand this great loss.
We thank all the organizers, volunteers, participants and especially Sri. Shreeram Adiga for inviting us to be a part of Ramnagara Marathon and for choosing organ donation as their theme.
