On 27th July, 2016, MOHAN Foundation was invited by the Commandant, Lt. Col Vivek Jaswal, 23 Pb Bn. N.C.C., Ropar to conduct awareness talk for their N.C.C. Cadets and J.C.Os at Ropar. The groups of students were from Punjab Schools & Colleges Govt & Private. The cadets were very much aware about Eyes and blood Donation. Around 600 cadets and 20 J.C.Os participated in the program.
Audience was given an introduction by Mr. Sudhir Dewan and presentation on Organ Donation and Brain Death by Deepika Arora. In this talk she explained need for Organ donation, current statistics on end stage organ failure and myths around organ donation, Importance of Donor card.
The Participants asked the following questions:-
Can the organs also be preserved like blood in blood bank.
Why the relatives or family members of the Patients do not donate the organs if waiting list is so long.
How MOHAN Foundation helps in the process of donations of Organs
At the end of the session Lt. Col Vivek Jaswal requested the Cadets and JCOs that they all should Pledge to donate Organs and discuss with at least five other friends or family members.
30 Brochures & 40 donor cards were picked up by cadets and JCOs.
