  • On 25th September, 2024. MOHAN Foundation conducted an awareness on Organ Donation at ETCM School and College of Nursing, Kolar. Mrs. Ranjini Shankar was the key resource

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS, initiated the session by introducing MOHAN Foundation, its mission, vision and kept the audience engaged throughout the session. The following concepts were explained in detail

    • Concepts of organ and tissue donation,
    • The types of death i.e., cardiac death and brain death
    •  Brain Death and the procedure to declare Brain Death through Apnoea test
    •  Procedure of deceased organ donation and live organ donation.
    • Procedure of skin and bone donation.
    • Barriers in the process of organ donation
    • Myths and facts related to organ donation and its impact on the society
    • Importance of Donor card

     

    Mrs. Ranjini Shankar MS continued the session, inviting the participants to join MOHAN Foundation’s internship and volunteering program.

    Around 300 members participated in the session including the Nursing students and Staff of ETCM School and College of Nursing, Kolar.

    Brochures and donor cards were distributed at the end of the session

    MOHAN Foundation conveys its gratitude to the ETCM School and College of Nursing, Kolar for choosing to support this life-saving cause.
