To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a Free Plant Saplings Campaign combined with a Blood donation and Eye Testing Camp was organized by Vivekananda Athma Seva Sangam at Washermanpet on 6th January 2013. MOHAN Foundation was given an opportunity to put up an awareness stall at the event. This initiative was taken by a group of socially responsible youth working in the IT industry led by Mr.Babuji, who believe in helping the needy and in protecting nature.
Almost, 500 people from the locality came for the event. All the visitors were given information brochures on Organ Donation. Mr.Johnson and Mr.Issac, Transplant Co-ordinators explained to the visitors about the concepts of Brain Death, Organ Donation and Importance of Donor Card. Around 50 people pledged for Organ Donation by picking up Donor cards.
