9th January, 2015 MOHAN Foundation Chandigarh conducted an awareness session for the students of Sri Guru Gobind , Chandigarh. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Group Of Institute has three college campuses and this was the third campus and last one of those. MOHAN Foundation was invited in all the three campuses and they really support the cause. The team was invited to conduct a lecture on Organ Donation, for the students. The NSS in charge Ms Amanpreet Kaur supports the cause and wish to engage with the organization in future also.
Around 105 students participated in the program and were given a presentation on the phenomenon of Brain Death and the process of organ donation through a presentation and videos by the Program Coordinator Nilakshi. The myths and misconception associated with organ donation were also discussed and got cleared. The donor cards were shown to them. They asked very relevant questions regarding Blood as well as Organ Donation. The question answer alone lasted for an hour. This was the second time the Organization is invited to conduct the session in the same campus as Mr Sudhir Dewan was invited last year to conduct a session.
After the presentation students discussed the whole process of organ retrieval and transplantation. Around 100 cards were taken by the students. It was an interesting session in which a lot of information was shared with the students. They really liked the cause and has promised to educate more students about organ donation.
