On 20th August, 2017 MOHAN Foundation Mumbai was invited by Mr. Kamal Sajnani on behalf of Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha, Ghatkopar, Mumbai, to conduct awareness talks for its members at SNDT Hall, 5th Floor, Cama Lane, Ghatkopar West, Mumbai.
After sharing a brief introduction about MOHAN Foundation and its activities, Mrs. Jaya Jairam spoke about what is Organ Donation, why is it needed, who can be donors and the process of how organ donation and transplantation is done. She also discussed the various barriers, myths and facts relating to organ donation.
She went on to share her personal story of how she decided to work towards furthering the cause of organ donation after undergoing a kidney transplant.
A lot of queries were asked regarding the process of organ donation as well as the process of registration on the waiting list. Mrs.Jaya Jairam answered all the queries.
Quite a few among the audience took the Pledge to donate their organs while some picked up forms for further signups after consulting their loved ones. Many of them were interested in organising such awareness talks in other forums.
